Hello I’m Betsy, the owner and solo photographer at BMC Photography based in Palmer, MA.
Wife, Mother of 4, and a grandma to 5 who has a passion for photography. I was about 10 years old when I realized I disliked being photographed. While the rest of my family wanted squeeze tight into a photo or snap polaroids of me, I wanted to be behind the lens taking the photos. Once I was an adult on my own I made it a goal of mine to photograph every part of my life. Thousands and thousands of photos later, I started crafting photo albums of all my children. Up until I lost my job in 2009, photography was nothing more than a hobby of mine. Upon losing my job, I was asked “what’s something you’ve always wanted to do but Couldn’t?” The first thing that came to mind was photography and little did I know, I was in for a surprise. Later that year for Christmas my husband gifted me my first DSLR camera and from there my journey as a professional photographer began. I had no prior experience using Adobe creative suite nor did I know how to configure any settings on a Nikon camera but with some Google searches, Online Courses and YouTube tutorials, I was on my way to learning. 10 Years later and 9 Cameras later, I’ve photographed hundreds of happy people. When I’m not behind the lens, or managing my transportation business you can find me on Pinterest learning new DIY remodeling and crafts projects for my home or spending time with my grandson who I’ve been raising.
